Dr. Mike Sidery

Mike gained an undergraduate honours degree from the University of Nottingham in 1989. He was awarded his PhD in 1993. He spent a year as a post–doctoral research fellow for the Wellcome Trust before starting his undergraduate medical training at Cambridge in 1993. He graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from Cambridge University in 1998.
Mike was appointed Consultant in Anaesthetics and Pain Management at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital in February 2008. The Norwich Pain Management Centre is a full multidisciplinary unit combining the services of medical consultants, consultant clinical psychologists, specialist nurses, physiotherapists & occupational therapist.
His clinical practice is now exclusively dedicated to pain management. His specialist interest is spinal cord stimulation (SCS) for the management of chronic neuropathic pain and CRPS and he is Neuromodulation Lead for the Trust. He has sat on a number of committees over the years and is currently Chairman of the Norfolk Medical and Dental Education and Research Trust.
Mike has been writing specialist pain management reports for the Courts following instruction by personal injury and medical negligence solicitors since November 2010.
When not working Mike is at the beck and call of three teenagers and when he can he enjoys gardening, running and is an enthusiastic pianist. His family keep pigmy goats and too many cats.
